Congressional Family Business Caucus Event on Capitol Hill (March 2025)

On March 11 2025, Family Enterprise USA (FEUSA), in coordination with the Congressional Family Business Caucus, held its first Washington D.C. event of 2025.  Amongst the 70+  attendees were seven Congressional House Members, who spoke as part of the event programming, and also engaged with family-owned company leaders to discuss the critical issues affecting their businesses.

Capri Capital’s Robert F. Mancuso was a featured speaker on a distinguished panel of family business owners, investors and advisors, discussing our firm’s focus on facilitating intergenerational wealth transfers and helping preserve and protect the legacies of family-owned businesses. The event also included presentations on the latest research from FEUSA’s Annual Family Business Survey, and a new consumer attitude survey from communications strategist and pollster, Dr. Frank Luntz.  Among the many compelling findings across both studies, the data showed that:

  • Estate/Death Tax continues to be the most important issue for family business owners, aside from income taxes

  • 84% of consumers agree with the premise that family-owned should not have to pay more in taxes than corporations

Congressional Family Business Caucus members who were in attendance included: Carol Miller (R-WV), Stacey Plaskett (D-VI-AL), Brad Sherman (D-CA), Brad Schneider (D-Ill), Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), and Pete Stauber (R-MN).
